Our Story
Western Spirit Ranches has been providing high-quality pheasant hunting for over 15 years. Our passion for keeping this diminishing tradition alive in Idaho inspired us to start this business. We're proud to provide our hunters with a quality experience. We offer half day hunts, full day hunts, guided, corporate and party hunts up to 35 hunters.

Our Story
Western Spirit Ranches maintains an Idaho Outfitters and Guides license each year. Our guides are also licensed. Although our guides and team members are also professional dog handlers experienced guides, safety is still their first responsibility. We pride ourselves as providing a quality and safe experience every time.

Our Idaho Fish and Game Licensed Preserve is located two miles west of Shoshone, Idaho. To get to our preserve you need take highway 26 between Gooding and Shoshone and turn north at the State highway sign "120 West" Go west on the dirt road for one mile along railroad tracks to end of the road and then turn right across the tracks and y

To get to our preserve you need take highway 26 between Gooding and Shoshone and turn north at the State highway sign "120 West" Go west on the dirt road for one mile along railroad tracks to end of the road and then turn right across the tracks and you are here. We normally have a 55-gallon barrel drum that is painted orange where you turn off highway 26. Google maps does not identify an address.

Western Spirit Ranches has a modern lodge for our hunters and their guests. We can accommodate up to 50 people for corporate and party catered meals. Our guests can relax and have drinks or snacks while waiting for their birds to be planted and or cleaned.

Out of state hunters can purchase a shooting preserve license for around $20 dollars from any Idaho Fish and Game vendor.

For an additional cost you can have an experienced-licensed guide and quality hunting dogs to add to your experience. In addition, our guides will clean and professionally package your birds and provide you with a cooler and ice for the trip home.

We buy only the finest and hard flying birds possible. We have had the same supplier for several years. Our Pheasant are mature, hardy, and raised on the highest quality feed possible. Our hunters constantly compare our farm raised Pheasant to natural and wild pheasants.

We work very hard to raise Pheasant habitat and although challenging, we have constantly improved our crop and cover. We have multiple varieties of feed as well as plenty of natural habitat. Along with awesome cover, we have rivers, streams, and several irrigation ditches with plenty of water year-round. We are open from August 15th throu

We are closed on Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas.

Morning Hunts are 9am to noon
Afternoon hunts are 1pm to 4pm
One hunter is $350 which includes a 10 bird plant
We charge $200 for each additional hunter up to 4 shooters. We will plant 5 more bird plant per hunter.
Guide and Dog are $175 and includes plant, cleaning, and packaging. NOTE: All guide

Western Spirit Ranches offer a limited number of pre-paid corporate memberships.
The cost is $2500 and includes the following.
* 70 birds in inventory
* Hunt up to two people for a 10-bird minimum plant
* Membership and bird credits are good for 12 months from purchase date.

If certain days are blacked out on the calendar, those days and or times are taken. Non-members or day hunters will be required to pay a $150 dollar deposit at time of booking. We do accept credit cards.
